Principle
How does the pendulum design work?
Operation
The driver’s compartment or nacelle and the wheels are articulated on a longitudinal axis, which allows the nacelle to tilt on turns or a slope.
This pendulum movement is possible because:
- the center of gravity of the nacelle is situated below its pivot axis,
- the pivot axis of the wheels is below their contact point with the ground.
- a steering mechanism concentric with the axis of the nacelle, allowing drivers to correct the induced steering, and making the steering independent of the inclination.
The nacelle and the wheels benefit from an independent pendular effect but are linked in their pivoting.
